Yedikule

There were no computer games in my childhood. Only our imaginations… We used to conquer castles and save princess with our wooden swords. Our heros were from historical Turkish movies and comics. We used to be Kara Murat or Malkoçoglu  (staring Cuneyt Arkin). These movies usually were setting in same places: Yedikule (Fortress of Seven Towers) or Rumeli Hisari

I love the Princes’ Islands because motor vehicles are not permitted. You see only horse drawns. So there is no traffic noise or  air pollution.

However, I am worry for poor horses that carry heavy loads or fat people. When I go to the Island I always prefer to walk under pine trees instead of taking

horse drawns.

Space Book

space-book

When I was little there was a book at home. It had colorful space and Moon landing pictures. Even if I couldn’t read it but I enjoyed looking at and drawing them on my paper. I also dreamed to be an astronaut when I grow up. Years later, I couldn’t reach my childhood dream but I continued drawing pictures. This little space book illustrations are for a science  magazine for kids. Who knows, maybe some of little readers become an astronaut and they remember my illustrations in space…
